EASTER

EASTER is upon us again.

I have seen children running through the stores yelling I saw the easter bunny, mommy I want that easter bunny. I want that chocolate candy. I want that spiderman or that princess easter basket.

HEY, what happened to the Jesus part of Easter? Don't get me wrong, I am in the bunch that does the eggs, for the children, but where is the story of Jesus. I don't hear that from children anymore WHAT IS EVEN WORSE, I DON'T HEAR IT FROM THE ADULTS, EITHER. That breaks my heart.

There was a LITTLE BIDDY END CAP in Wal Mart the other day for the JESUS part of Easter. There were Four Long Isles of Junk for the easter bunny. I did not even find that much in the drug store or Target. The Dollar Tree is just as bad.

LET'S PUT JESUS BACK IN EASTER! HE DID DIE FOR US!

Sunday, February 24, 2008

There will be three birthdays this year with great meaning. Our beautiful daughter, Joy turned 30 on Feb. 13, 2008, my sister, RoRo will turn 60 on March 31, 2008, and then Dad/Grandad will be 90 years yound on June 21,2008. This is a good year. Don't get me wrong, all the birthdays this year are special to me. I try to remember all of them. It just isn't very often that a family has a set time between that many birthdays. This being a Father/Grandfather, Daughter/Aunt and Grandaughter/Niece.
We got together this past weekend and celebrated Joy's birthday. Lunch Sant Fe, then cake at the nursing home with Grandad. Grandad was very happy to see us. Of course, he let us know that we were missing a few people. He always enjoys everyones visits, but also misses the ones that don't get to come. We were pleasantly surprised to have a cousin coming in to see Grandad when we arrived there. Debbie Harless, she is the daughter of Emma Sue Townsend Martin, grandaughter of Roy & Ruth Townsend. Daddy always calls her Emma Sue. LOL She does look a lot like her mom. It was good to have her there, too!
It was a very good day, long but rewarding.
I can't wait to have the parties for RoRo & Daddy/Grandad.
We are blessed!

"CHRISTmas" 2007

Ok, it has been a wonderful time with all of our families gathering to celebrate the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. We have done all our shopping, cooked our foods and in our case, we have already had our gatherings.
We all got together as a Family at Norman Veterans Center, to celebrate a little early, on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 23, 2007. Family and Friends were all there to help us eat and exchange gifts and just enjoy being with each other. {Dad/Grandad/Great Grandad}, was a little under the weather, but he was there right in the middle of the events.
Group List Attending:
Daddy (Grandad), Rhoda; Rhonda & Kerry; Cheryl & Bruce; Danny II & Angela, Brittany, Danny James, Emily, Jacob; Joy & James, Jessica, Jordan; Thomas & Reba, Whitley; Jana & Sara; Kim; Nancy; Jeanie; and Larry. We had a couple of visitors from other residents of the nursing home and they were also welcome.
Good food and lots of fun was had.
We had loved ones that were celebrating their first Christmas, Whitley, all the way up to Daddy, that was celebrating his 90th Christmas on this earth. We are looking forward to having Daddy here for his 90th birthday, in June of 2008.
Today we girls and a few of our extended families that do not have other plans, will be having lunch with Daddy at the Veterans Home, in the cafeteria.
Also, Aunt Billie, is having hip surgery today on her right hip. They put her in the hospital on Dec. 23, 2007 in terrible pain. Keep her in your Prayer!
Gotta go and get things on the way....
Praise God that we have this Special time of the year....

Ice Storm...WOW

Well, we are having an ice storm today, STILL and it all started yesterday. I can not get in my truck yet. Grandpa had to work for over two hours to get in his truck to go to work this morning. WOW! I just remembered that I had alcohol and it will thaw just as well as any of those chemicals that they sell for thawing. DUH.......
Well, I ran out and sprayed my truck door with Alcohol and it is working. Slowly, but it is working.
While I was outside, I walked around our yard and took pictures of our trees. They are so beautiful, yet so broken....Awe.... We will be having to clean up some when all this ice goes away, but not as badly as I had first thought. Most of our branches are still bending and not to the breaking off point. Thank God.
My Daddy (Grandad) called me early and told me to stay in the house and out of this stuff. I said "Yes Daddy, I will". He still has to watch over us girls. Bless his heart.
I have finally heard from all of my children. Danny called me and he made it up here to work and is going to go home early, that is good. Angels emailed me and the older children are in school and she and Jacob are nice and warm at home.
Thomas had some car trouble, but his friend Bob came to his rescue and got him to work. Thomas and Grandpa will go over and work on his car when Grandpa gets off work. Reba called to check up on me and let me know that she and Whitley are ok and still have power also. Bless their hearts, her Mom doesn't have any power and her grandpa doesn't. However, they do have fire places so that will help them a little. I pray that they get their power on soon.
Joy just called and I know that she is safely at work and James was able to stay home with the children.
Grandpa was able to finally get to work after a couple of hours of thawing out his truck. They had 10 people not come to work and another 6 were leaving at noon. He said that he was staying around and getting paid for just being there. Easy money is what he called it. LOL I can't blame him for that.
I am home and toasty in the living room. The moisture has stopped falling here for the moment, an some things are actually thawing a little.
Well, I am going to go and get something done around here.
All is well and we are blessed, even if it is COLD out side. I have the Hot Chocolate ready and waiting for anyone that wants it. LOL

Sept. Birthdays

Wow, Sept. already?

I have cooked a ham all night and it is so very hard to sleep when you smell something cooking. I just got it all sliced up and did the tomatoes and onions, too!

We are gathering at the Veterans Center where Grandad (my Dad) lives and having a sandwich lunch for the Sept. Birthdays {Bruce (11th), Jana (7th) & Sara (18th)}. It will be a good day. I am not giving out any ages.....LOL

Joy and her family are coming to pick me up, because at the last minute, Bruce had to pull overtime. He will be in our hearts and our thoughts and I will save him a ham sandwich.

After the lunch, we will be going to Paulsvalley to watch Danny James in his first official Little League Football Game. We have been to a Round Robbin and a Scrimage, already. I am really looking forward to it. It sure brings back wonderful memories of when his daddy was in little league. It is a good thing!

Here we go, off to make new memories.....Grammie

June & July *07

Well, here I am again. June & July have been so busy.

We were Blessed with our 8th grandbaby on June 11, 2007. Thomas & Reba became Daddy & Mommy of a beautiful baby girl, Whitley June. She is just beautiful and loved by all. Lots of Family & Friends were all over the place when Whitley mad her enterance into this world. Mommy has gone back to work now & Daddy brings Whitley to Grammie on his way to work & Mommy comes to get her. I love my family and I am blessed that we are so close.

Danny II and his family moved back to Lindsay and are living in Grandad's house. I know that they are very happy there. Danny has a life time of memories there of his grandparents, now he and his family are making more memories in that home.

On July 17, Grandpa & I celebrated our 36th year of marriage. Yep, we still like each other. LOL... Bruce is the Love of My Life.

Earlier this week, Brittany & Emily came up and we went shopping and then met Joy, Jessica & Jordan for lunch. Whitley slept through most of this. LOL being young is pretty good. I had a very good time. I hope that the girls did. One day next week, Danny is supose to come up and we will have a special day.

Since Joy is working from home now, I don't see Jessica & Jordan every Monday thru Friday, but we all still get together & have fun. James & Joy are getting week long visitations with Christian. I went to the Zoo with Joy, Christian, Jessica & Jordan a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast at the Zoo and then we went to eat at Burger King. Those children were still going and went to play on the toys as soon as they finished eating. I was sure tired when I got home, but I am ready to go again. LOL Yeh right, I have lost my mind...lol.

It is now Aug. & both my boys, Danny (7th)& Thomas (9th) are coming up on their birthdays. Oh my, where has the time gone. Danny will be 35 years young and Thomas will be 24 years youngs. I look at little Whitley in the travel sleeper and I remember both of my boys at that same age. Wow!! How they grow up!

I love my memories! Grammie
