May 1/2 gone!

Wow, May is over half gone.
School is about out for the summer and Jessica became 6 years old on the 22nd of May.
Joy is on jury duty this week so I have been having fun with Jessica and Jordan. We have been having some good times. Jordan informed me today that we are out of popcorn for snacks. That just almost ruined her whole day. LOL However, I did come up with some cookies that were left over from Jessica's birthday at event at school and they were both very happy. The day was saved.....8^}
On the 18th Jacob and Emily came and spent a couple of hours with me and we had a good time. Jacob is just a bundle of hugs that need to be given away. YES, I took all the hugs he would give me. I am not dummy.
That same day, Joy, Jessica and Jordan came over after Jessica got out of school and we had a good visit. The grandchildren played and giggled a lot.
I love the sound of children laughing and giggling. Especially when they are my family...8^}
We went down to see Daddy (Grandad) Sat. and had a nice visit. He got tired and wanted to lay down. We took him back to his room and he had me call the nurse to help him lay down. We said our goodbyes and let him rest.
Sunday 5-20-07 we went down to Lindsay about 2:00 p.m. and worked on getting Daddy's truck started. It would not start for us the last time we were down there. This time, Thomas and Reba came over and Thomas was not giving up until he got it to start. He hung in there and it started up. We called Jana and asked her if she would concider taking a $1,000.00 for the truck. She said yes and we bought a new battery and new battery cable ends and off we went. We brought the truck home that day. I drove the truck, Bruce was in front of me and Thomas and Reba were in back of me. The tag is out of date, so they put me in the rocking chair and here we came. The truck ran pretty good all the way home. The speedomitor is not working, so I had to just pray that I wasn't speeding. Bruce says I wasn't, but Thomas said I was.....roflol...what do you think...? As soon as we get the title, I will get insurance and Bruce will start driving it to work. We have got to get the speedomitor fixed, first. The last thing we need, is a speeding ticket.
Well, Memories and more memories.
Grammie
We will be going back down this next weekend and start getting things cleaned up inside and outside, so that it can be rented.

April

Ok, I can talk about RoRo's birthday surprise now. On Rhoda's birthday, Grandpa & I went to Dallas, Texas to meet Rhonda, Kerry, RoRo, LaNora Horton and her two grandchildren and we all went to eat at the Midevil Theater for dinner and a live show. The Joust was very good and so was the food. A good time was had by all.
Easter , our children and grandchildren Blessed us with their company at our home and we had a cookout, hid some eggs and got back in the house. It was a little wet and very chilly. Then I got a wild hair and talked everyone into getting in and around one of the trees in our yard and got some family pictures taken. It has a special meaning to us. I had found a picture of my children, (Danny, Joy & Thomas) Rhoda's daughter ( Rhonda) and Jana's daughter (Sara) in the tree at mother's and daddy's back yard in Lindsay. Since it looks like we will not all of us ever get back down there to have a picture of them all taken in that same tree, I asked them to do it here at our house. The grandchildren jumped at the chance to get up in that tree. LOL, it was fun.
Reba, Thomas, Grandpa & I went fishing on the Sunday before her birthday. We stopped by Grandad's between fishing holes and picked up the riding lawn mower, it needs a lot of work done on it, but I think we can get it fixed. Grandpa and I went to Lindsay on the Sat. before and cut Daddy's yard. We did not get the fences weedeated or up close to the house or the portches, but Jana has someone that is going to start taking care of all of that. We at least got it to where it did not look abandoned and we could find Rosco when we left. LOL I played ball with Rosco for a long time. He sure does like to have company.
Reba turned 20 years young on April 23, she is the baby of the grown folk in our family.
On Thurs. the 12th, Grandad was put to bed by the nurses and the doctor. He had pneumonia. Most of what he has been eating and drinking was going into his lungs, not his stomach. This is not a good thing. Danny II and Rhonda came by and we all had a good long visit. Grandad slept through most of it, but he tried to talk to us for a little bit. He was just so tired, he pretty much slept all day.
Sat. Danny II went back down and visited for a few hours and one of our cousins, Debbie Harless, came by to visit Daddy. Danny II said that they had a good visit, too!
Grandpa and I got there just after Danny II had left. Daddy had a pretty rough time evening, but they finally got him to take his pills and he finally went to sleep.
On Sunday, RoRo and Rhonda went to see Grandad and he had been given Haldol again. That is the medication that turns Grandad into a very nasty person. RoRo has spoken to the people in charge and I believe that there will be not more of that medication. Not if they know what is good for them anyway.
On Monday, Joy, James, Jessica & Jordan went down to see Grandad and he sure did like all the extra attention. Jana & RoRo came up and we all had a nice visit. Daddy was just beaming when we all left. He likes that attention. Hey, who doesn't?
Grandad is doing a lot better right now. He is still having some trouble getting his pills down, when they don't crush them and put them in some pudding or ice cream. He loves that ice cream!
Monday the 23rd, I went to Lindsay to see our grandaughter, Brittany Dawn, cross over from Brownie Juniors to Cadets. It was very special. I love doing special things with my grandchildren.
On the same day, Jessica, one of my other grandbabies, fell and hit the coffee table. It put a pretty good cut just under her right eyebrow, but her Mommy got right on it and got it all fixed up. I am thinking, that she may get away without much of a scare. "Praise God" for fast acting Mommies.
I had a Home Shopping Party for Joy's company (Lifes Little Surprises) on Sat. 28th. Thank you to everyone that came to see what Joy is selling and thanks for the orders. I really like everything that I have purchased from her.
Wow, April was a busy month...
Memories were made......8^}
