A Good Sunday!
Well we started out going to church at Faith Fellowship Church, with all of our children and their children. Except Christian, he was with his mom. It was a very good service. I like the folks that go there, they are very friendly. We left church and had to go get Jordan a birthday present as we were having her party at the Hometown Buffett at 1:30 p.m. Danny James came shopping with us and he picked out the wrappings for the gift. He was a big help. We met family and friends at Hometown Buffett and everyone ate all they could hold and cake, too! Jordan was having a blast and so were the other children. It is nice to have a private room so the children can play and you don't have to worry about getting in anyone elses way. We had Jacob's 1st year birthday party there on the 5th of Nov. Fun was had by all that day, too! This could get to be a regular hangout for our birthdays. Grandad called to say he was sorry that he could not be there, but to tell Jordan Happy Birthday for him, too. I went straight and told her and she wanted to know where he was. I told her he could not come but he Loved her. She smiles that precious little smile and said ok and off she went to play with her cousins. It was another good day. More memories to share with all!Grammie
I Am Thankful
Well "Praise God". We had a wonderful house full of children and grandchilren for our Thanksgiving Dinner. We ate pretty close to 12:00 (noon), about 12:45 actually, but it gave us all enough time to eat and Thomas enough time to enjoy the family and get to work on time. We had more food than we could all eat and that was wonderful. Our grandchildren (execpt Jacob, he is too little yet & Christian, he was with his mom and was missed) were all out side playing and having a wonderful time. It made my heart swell to heart children laughing and giggling in our yard again. We have got to get something for them to play with out there. But I must say they did pretty good with just each other and a couple of balls that we have in the yard.Joy, Angela and Reba out did theirselves with the food that they brought to go with my ham and potatoes. I ate so much I did not even want supper. Grandpa, Danny, Thomas and James did their best to give us all a hard time and yet they did not even turn on a TV set. I am proud of them. We laughed and carried on and then sadly, each of them had to head on out to their own homes and get on with their lives. I was very thrilled that Danny brought his camera and we got some family photos, before Thomas had to go to work. I have not seen them yet, but I know I will soon. After my children and grandchildren left, we rested about an hour and then we took Grandad some chocolate pie that Jessica helped her mommy make and some pumpkin pie that Angela made. Grandad ate the chocolate first and all gone right away. He said that was the best chocolate pie he had eaten in a long time. He saved the pumpkin pie for the next day. He was still pretty stuffed from lunch with RoRo, Jana, Sara, Jon and his girlfriend and then he ate dinner. I can understand him being so stuffed...lolReturning home was a little sad when we walked into a quiet house, but I have to be honest, I was asleep before my head hit the pillow, once I got the kitchen cleaned up and stuff put away. We all still fit in this little house. I am thankful to God and all of my children and their children for filling our home with so much love and so many memories!Memories were made. Grammie
Thankful at Thanksgiving
I have so many things to be Thankful for all year long. However, like most people, I really get to thinking about it more at this time of year. We are all so blessed to have family that is still with us and friends that are like family. This past week we lost a wonderful man, Jimmy Brown. He was a first cousin to my Mom and he treated all of us girls like we were his. LOL...he was a mess. He WILL be missed. We all met at a family dinner that had already been planned for months, the day after his memorial. You could see the love that the family had for his wife and children and grand and great grandchildren. They too were able to be happy. Even though Jimmy was gone physically, his memory was just everywhere. It was truly a good thing. I am Thankfull for being in that family. I am so very Thankful that I have my Dad, my Sisters, my huband, my Children and Grand children, my nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles that are still with us. Some of us are still a little rough around the edges, but we are who we are and we should be loved because of who we are, not what someone wants us to be. That is how I was raised. I hope that I have passed that on to my children. Just because someone doesn't do things the way we do does not make them a bad person to be around, they are just different. We can all learn from others. Because of the people that have been in my life I am who I am. Each person in our lives contributes to us in one way or the other. I hope that I have contributed to each of your lives in a good way. Be Thankful here at Thanksgiving time, but remember to be THANKFUL ALL YEAR LONG. Let's make some Memories this Thanksgiving to last us a while....Grammie
We Are Staying Home!
Ok, Carlson Systems only offered Grandpa a $1.00 an hour raise and $1,000.00 to move on. Grandpa told them that it was not anywhere near enough to get us to up root our lives and move. That would not even come close to helping us pay the rent that they want up there. That is not even enough to cover two of the four years that he has not gotten a cost of living raise. So, yippee for us. Sorry folks, you are stuck with us for a while longer. They did ask that Grandpa stay with them until the end of the year and he told them ok. Hey, it is a pay check with insurance, we are not stupid. We are going out this evening with all of our children and sisters for my birthday. Thomas asked Reba's parents to come as well. He is going to pop the question, OFFICIALLY, and give her the ring he bought her last night. It is a pretty thing. Memories are going to be made, that is for sure!Grammie
