REUNION WEEKEND

WELL, this weekend sure got here quickly. Yes, it is time for another reunion for Grandad Townsend's Family. We will all be getting together at the Lindsay Golf Park north of Lindsay, Oklahoma on Sunday July2, 2006 at noon. Family from all over the United States will be coming. It should be a good time. We are very blessed to have Grandad with us this year, he has had some pretty bad health in the last year and we came very close a couple of times of not having him with us anymore.
Joy is doing better this past week, but she is still making and appointment with a specialist to get checked out. I sure am happy that she is feeling up to par again.
Danny came by the last two days for a short visit, it sure is nice to see my children in the middle of the week. Jessica and Jordan both think that Uncle Danny is a toy to play with, just like they do Uncle Thomas.
I am going in on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. to see Dr. Rosacker and have him tell me when he can do the surgery on my left knee. It seems to be really bothering more people than just me, so I guess I will just get it over with.
I hope to see lots of my kidos at the reunion.
I have memories to make with each of them.

Another busy week

Well, it is another busy week for our families.
Sara is still at ball camp and on Thurs. she goes back home, but she has practice and a game I think is what Jana said. Then on Friday they leave for Weatherford for state games and they may be home by Sunday. Busy Bees!
RoRo, Jana, Thomas, Reba, Grandpa and I all went to see Grandad at the VA on Weds. the 21st, his 88th birthday, and his room mate met us down in the TV room and we had cake and ice cream. We all tried to work on a puzzle that one of the other residents had started, but I could not find any pieces. Jana, RoRo and Reba found a lot of it. They did stop, before the found all of the pieces. LOL They had to leave something for Pat, the man that started it, to finish. The day shift at the VA had given Grandad a big ice cream cake at noon and some balloons. They had a good time. So did we.
Danny II and his family were celebrating Brittany's 11th birthday at home with her friends. When Jessica, Jordan and I called to wish Brittany a happy birthday, she told me that she was going to have a sleep over for her birthday. I know she was going to have a good time. I asked if I could come too, and she said yes, LOL, but I don't think she would have been very happy if her Grammie showed up for her sleepover...LOL. Our angel is growing up on us way too fast. We will all be able to get together some time soon and celebrate with her. This is the first year that Brittany and Grandad haven't at least had a cake party with each other. We will have to figure out someway for them to get together at least for a little while.
Joy had been without her pain medicine all day at work, because she was going in to see her family doctor and she wanted to be able to tell the doctor exactly were it hurt and how it was hurting. James was off yesterday, so he went and got Christian and took Joy to her doctors appointment and then back to work and then he came and pickup Jessica and Jordan and they went back home until it was time to go get Joy at work. Even as sick as she has been, Joy has been having to work overtime everyday, because the PA in the office has been off all week. Joy's family doctor is sending her to a specialist and also told her that her appendix is enlarged and that she may have an infection in her bowels. All of the above can be doctored, but they can sure give you a hard time until they are fixed. Keep her in your prayers. Anyway, they did not make it to the cake and ice cream with Grandad, either. He understood.
Rhonda had to get read for work. She saw Grandad on Father's Day and told him that she would not be able to see him on his birthday.
Well, that is all I know that is going on and I hope that I have not gotten anything wrong. If I have, let me know and I will change it.
RoRo has the Relay for Life this weekend. Come support the folks if you can. We will be there Friday, after Joy picks up the girls and then we will be with Rhonda & Kerry on Sat.
Talk to all of you soon!
Memories are still there to be made.

Long Weekend

Wowee, it was a weekend for changed plans
We were all supose to go to lunch at Hometown Buffet for Brittany's birthday dinner. Aunt Ro was out of town, Aunt Jana the Great and Sara were busy with playoffs, Joy was so sick that we had to take her to the ER at Baptist and we were Grandad's ride to the dinner, so he did not get to go, either. Uncle Thomas was going to make it, but since alot of people could not be there, Danny and Angela and Brittany decided to postpone it until we can all be there. 8^(
We were so sad. We will get with Brittany soon and have a nice lunch or dinner.
Grandpa and I kept Jessica and Jordan over night on Sat., so Joy could get some rest at home. She was still pretty sick woman when she left the hospital. They gave her some pain medicine and sent her home and told her to go see her family doctor this week. She is going in to see her on Weds. The doctor at the ER thinks it is IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), but we are still wondering if it may not me something else.
Sunday Joy and James and Christian came by to get Jessica and Jordan and stayed for a visit and played some games and wished Grandpa a Happy Father's Day. Thomas was off until 4:00 p.m., so he was around to wish a the same. His new lady, Reba, came by and did the same. Danny called about noonish and wish Grandpa a happy day, too.
About 3:00 p.m. we got ready and went to Norman to the VA and met RoRo and Rhonda there. We all went to Golden Corral for dinner for Grandad's Father's Day. Jana the Great was at the university enrolling Sara in a base ball camp, but she met us for dinner. RoRo had just come in from MI and was very tired, so she went on home and Daddy road with Jana & Rhonda to the Wal Mart store that was close. Grandpa and I went, too. We all spent about an hour shopping and then took Grandad back to the VA. All in all it was a pretty good day. We stayed at the VA until almost 9:00 p.m. and we were all pretty tired when we headed home. Grandad really seemed to enjoy the day. He really loves getting out of that place, but he is always likes getting back, so he can tell everyone what he got to go and do.
Memories were made...again!

Birthdays in June and Family Times!

Well, it really looks like summer is here. Man if it is this hot this early, we all need to invest in an ice house. LOL
Joy got a call back on one of the many applications that she has been sending out an she got the job, it is for a lawyer. Hurray for Joy, she is really excited about it. I am excited for her.
The day that she got the call back and was given the job, Joy & her girls, Thomas and Danny and I all went to Taco Ville and ate lunch. It was a good time. I love being with my children. All of them at once is a BIG BONUS for me. Grandpa was in Tulsa, so he did not get to be with us. 8^(
Grammie has a new swimming pool for the yard. It is not really huge, but it is big enough for
our needs. I might even get in it sometime. LOL We are going to put it in the front yard under the trees. It came with a cover, so maybe we can keep the bird poop out of it and the tree leaves. Everyday that the girls come over, they just can not believe that we do not have it put up and full of water yet. ROFLOL We are waiting to get the yard mowed first and then we will put it up and fill it.
Brittany is almost 11 years old. It just fill my heart with joy to see her growing up so wonderful and pretty. We are very proud of her. Grandad told me the other day that he just couldn't believe that she was that old and how pretty he thought she was getting. He asked me how old they were going to be this year. LOL...he still remember that year that she told him that THEY were going to be 4 years old. I love memories like that. Grandad will be 88 on their birthday, June 21. This will be the first birthday in 11 years, that they have not had a party together, if Grandad doesn't get to come to the lunch at Hometown Buffet. We will have to ask him. RoRo is out of state right now and will not be back by Sat. and Aunt Jana the Great is going to try to get there, too! She and Sara are still in baseball.
I have not heard yet as to what Rhonda is doing for her birthday/wedding anniversary with Kerry. This is their 10 year celebration of their marriage. Wow, that is a long time.
We will be making more Memories.
Love One and All

A Long Weekend Ahead of Us!

Well, we are off again to the panhandle of Oklahoma. Yes, that wonderful town of Guymon. Wowee!
Grandpa has to go up and work at the pig factory on Sunday and try to show the men up there how to work on the machines that Carlsons had sold them. Usually, he fixes them and they have them broken before we can get home, so he is going to and work about 13 hours on Sunday and get as many machines fixed as he can before they can get them broken. LOL....
I am going to go for the ride and I will be at the motel. I will have my cell phone, but it usually does not work up there. I will try to text message to my childern and they will be able to get in touch with us if we are needed.
We will be leaving about noon on Sat. 6*10*06 and be back on Monday 6*12*06. Grandpa is not looking forward to this trip, but he never really does. It is long and he has to walk up and down stairs at least three stories and the machines are of course on the other side of the plant from where he has to go in at. That is one huge plant, it almost the size of a city, all by itself.
We went to see Grandad last night for a few minutes. By the time we finally got home from Lawton (working), had dinner, got Grandpa a hair cut and bought gas, it was already after 8:00 and when we got there, Grandad was sitting on his bed ready to go down for the night. We had a good visit though.
Well gotta go for now. I have to finish packing.
Love to All,
Make some good memories with your loved ones!

Fishing Trip for Grandpa....

Well, Grandpa left this morning to go to a retirement party at the Tulsa store of Carlson's. The warehouseman is retiring. LeRoy is his name and he is a very nice man.
After leaving there, Grandpa was headed down to Eufaula Lake to go fishing with Dana and Leo. The three of them have been going fishing for a couple of years now. They have been going deer camping with each other for years, with their boys. Some of the boys were going to try to go on the fishing trip this year (Thomas, Brandon & Jeremy),but, they have all started new jobs just recently and none of them could get off work this soon. Maybe next year.
No women are allowed....LOL!
I love the stories that Grandpa comes back with.
Memories can be made anywhere and anytime.
